The front covers of LT-1’s have three oil seals, to which you most likely dislodged or otherwise damaged the Water Pump Driveshaft Seal.

Water Pump Driveshaft O-ring Seal
Distributor Shaft Oil Seal
Crankshaft Hub Oil Seal

Thank you very much. I will get the seals tomorrow and try to stop the leak.

Yes, those seats were probably the best I've ever sat in, or some of the best. Best for comfort, not supportive, since they lack bolstering.

I think those seats mighta been some of the reason I wanted an SS.

WE might have to talk about that IROC w/. LT1 heart. Please bring it up next time we talk.

LSx engines are fantastic, so I can see that.

While I've never had a coil issues on my rides, I found out long ago how crappy a loose plug wire can make a vehicle run & perform; or it's lack thereof.

As u are finding out, they (Opti) are finicky. It's a wonder mine never performed worse, cause I never sourced an inline T (they're little blue) to run off the vac lines of the Opti vent. I even looked at yards for one.

It woulda most likely ran even harder, cause what little I did run that LT1, it ran hard. It burned the tires, blew up 1 tired, stock 60E a week after swap, 2 built 60E's, & blew the rear, all w/in 1 yr. of swap.

Ah, the joy of the wonderful 4L60E. :nunchuk1:

Jarrod, what's the most common leak of those 3 seals? 1 of the 1st 2, isn't it?

Seals were reasonably affordable, right? As we spoke last time, it's the lil GM parts they hose you on. And since they are dealer sourced, we know what that means... $.

OP, find out what seal(s) was / were faulty?

Tom, just throwing it out there, I would say the balancer seal would be the most likely to leak of the three, if were just talking about possibilities. But due to the type of seals that are in the front cover, the o-ring seal of the water pump driveshaft is most likely to give a person problems, especially when servicing the pump or opti-spark assembly.
