yeah i suppose...i wanna do a 383 with an 8-71 blower

nightrunner 07-08-2006 12:06 PM

that would be sweet especially with a butterfly scoop sticking through the hood

This is the way I will be going. I will be adding a shift light where the factory headlight switch is and running an Autometer Recall Tach. The headlight switch will be moved to the column.

if you dont do much more to your motor ok... well i dont really know what a turbo 350 will handle but i know a 400 turbo will handle almost anything stock

and it doesnt take hp to run a transmission u just have more parasitic loss in some more than others but i got what you were saying

the point i was making was the 700r4 is crap and will play out and is not worth modifying

He is correct in almost everyway, a TH400 can handle any stock engine, the parasitic loss in a TH400 can be corrected with billet clutch drums, keep in mind they are very expensive. The only thing a 700r4 is good for is a boat anchor :jest: , but this is my opinion.

A TH350 will work but you will need a shift kit, good quality clutches, and the biggest cooler you can use; hell this is a must for any tranny.

nightrunner 07-08-2006 07:09 PM
