He guys, im getting ready to add a tach to my truck and id like to see where all you guys with 73-87 C10 trucks are mounting your tachs at. Thanks!

i had an 87 gmc rclb but wrecked it before i could mod it but it would have put it where the gas gauge is now, but it didnt have a tach init when i got it to the first thing i did was get a tach and i mounted it to the a pillar it was only a 3 3/8" though no pics sorry... got lots of complements on it it was only a 305

sweet...im thinking about mounting it in the middle of the dash, just on the left side of where the dash goes up to cover gauges/radio

nightrunner 07-07-2006 09:10 PM

like i said i had mine on the apillar but when i got enough $$$ i was going to swap out all the gauges and put autometer ultra-lite gauges and replace big gas gauge with tach and clock with gas gauge and put a shift light where the previous tach was i was also going to get billet dash panels to go with

ill see if i can photoshop where im tallking about in my truck on a pic

nightrunner 07-07-2006 09:21 PM

i know exactly where you are mounting it but if you want to post the pic for everyone else to see OK

that would be a great spot its just right in the middle and sticks out i wanted a stealthy look myself

nightrunner 07-07-2006 09:22 PM

oh and what do you have done to your truck to be runnin 15.2xs

ProStreet83C10 07-07-2006 09:51 PM

lol, not much, i have a 350 block, .030 over, 305 heads, MILD MILD cam, edelbrock intake, dual elec. cooling fans, 700R4 with corvette internals, 10 bolt posi rear end with 4:11 gears...

nothing special really

nightrunner 07-07-2006 10:05 PM

if you go much further the 700r4 wont take it and dont modify it you would be bette off to swap ina 400 turbo and be done with it

nightrunner 07-07-2006 10:06 PM
