O.K I'm still searching for a engine... I found a few but I need to know what the 6.0 came in from the factory. like the 1500HD did it come with a 5.3 or 6.0?also 2002 and later should have the better heads right? If anyone has a link or knows what part of the vin states the engine sizes that would be great....

 

the 1500hd came w/ the LQ4

 

The 8th letter in the vin is "U" They came in all 2500 and 3500 series trucks, vans, and suburban's

 

The 6.0L comes in all 01+ Denali's and Escalades and Silverado SS's. Also the H2 has a 6.0L in it.

 

my 2002 2500HD has it...

U = LQ4
N = LQ9

 

And these are LQ9s -- only difference is the pistons -- LQ4 = 9.6:1 (9.4??), LQ9 = 10.1:1
