I swapped a lq9 into my 2000 model and literally the only thing I had to change was a oil pressure switch in the back of the motor cause it was either too tall or too short for the connector I can't remember which it was

Default 6.0 swap

like everyone is saying it really is that easy. I have done all the reasearch you have and stright swap. and a computor reflash. use the intake on your truck now to make it easier. I found a shop near me that is doing these swaps and I went over to talk with them they say extremly easy no problems. just with the early LQ4 engine. LETS HAVE SOME FUN !!!!!!

ok guys, i am now getting ready to actually order a 6.0 to swap in. I have another question though, can i use my 4.8 injectors or do i need to get the 6.0 injectors with the 6.0 engine?

I would get the 6.0 injectors with the engine

The 99 4.8 has smaller injectors than a 6.0L in all years

connectors are the same but the early 4.8 and 5.3's had a smaller flowing injector.

ok thanks!, Now im going to get new exhaust manifold gaskets. Are they the same from the 4.8 to 6.0? Im most likely going to be using my original 4.8 exhaust manifolds because i dont think the 6.0 comes with them..

Does anyone one know EXACTLY the changeover date that they went to the new regular short crank? I found an early 2001 6.0. The build date on the donor truck is 2/2001, which is early so wondering if it could have possibly had the old style long crank still?
