ok this guys one of my best freinds and we've always had this competition thing between our trucks. u get the point. ive raced him a few times before but not since he got posi. this race was just in all good fun last night after a couple beers(legal limit )

specs:
2001 extcab silverado 5.3- 3.73s/posi 4600lbs (stock)
2001 regcab silverado 4.8- 4.10s/posi 4250lbs (stock)
besides that all boltons are the same

he has extcab so he said *** u ur takin someone. i agreed and put another guy in my truck. i have a bedcover that already weighs 100lbs and he doesnt. with the extra guy and the bedcover im now about 4530lbs give or take some.

we line up and i 3honk it, both of us peel rubber to about 40. during the time we were burning our tires off i managed to pull a truck length. dont know how but i did, im guessing it was because of the 4.10s. after that, he stayed right at my bumper through all the gears, i couldnt shake em. then at about 80-90 i pulled another 1/2 car. so the race ended somewhere around 100 with me at 1.5cars.

it was a pretty good race. i know if he had 4.10s it would of been neck and neck. he gave me all this **** about how hes gonna mod his truck more and woop my ***. ohwell we'll have to see

btw, this would of been on video but my passenger was too drunk to realize the camera in his lap

Good kill. Hype.... I just had a scsb 03-4 Sierra for lunch with at least exhaust and programmer. I know he had a programmer becuase his truck did not cut off at 99. We went from about a 55 roll and put about 3-4 truck lengths on him to about 110-5...

 

u should get 4.10 gears, ur 50-55 roll would be fukin dynamite

i dunno ill have to check next time. but not many things can hang with me on the 50roll, it drops down perfect. i kept up with my freinds stock ls1 for awile on the 50

 

Why would you get bashed for beating a 5.3 in your 4.8 truck? My Z is a turd with its 5.3, I know it and don't give a ****.

4.8's can get pretty damn fast also

My 4.10s suck on the freeway. I know this because I raced MacADaYear from about a 50 roll and his 3.42 kick ***, he pulled from me like nothing. I don't downshift into 2nd anymore like I used to with my higher gears (3.73), not enough gearing I suppose.

 

I bet a very close race would be a 4.8 SWB against a 5.3 xcab.All stock same gears.And if it was switched the other way the 4.8 would have no doors at the end of the quarter mile
