hi im about to purchase a 2008 Silverado but i dont know what engine is in it? is there a way i can tell thru the VIN number ?

 

8th digit on the vin is a T-LM7

Idk if they changed it in 2008 but thats what i know of the top of my head

Sticker in the glovebox will contain the engine RPO code. If you don't know your engines (LM7, LQ4, L92, etc, just look look up the codes beginning with L on the glovebox sticker; there aren't that many RPOs beginning with an L. Mine has RPO L9H on the sticker; 6.2-liter VVT non-AFM/DOD FlexFuel V8.
