Default a 5.3 for $300

I saw a listing for a 5.3 with 75000 miles on it for $400. Offered the guy 300.00 and says he would take it. Now my question is, how much harder would it be to swap this into the 97 truck that I just got than a vortec 350. It currently has the 4.3L with a 5 speed. Would it mount up to the 5 speed? What all would be involved, and how about getting the guages and everything to work. Would I be doing alot of wire splicing or is there someone who can build an adapter harness. Really want to do this, but the wiring scares me.LOL. I quess I could always put it in my 04 when the 4.8 kills over.

I'm sure someone who knows the answer will chime in, but if it's one thing I've learned with GM is anything's possible, and someone else has probably already done it. So, I bet there's a wiring harness (adpater kit) you can buy. As for the 5-speed, I'm not sure about that, but I bet with a different housing it might work without too much hassle....
