Default 4l60e swap to 4l80e

Can anyone help me out on what all I need to do to swap 4l60e to 4l80e in my 2005 4x4 tahoe

Also I don't mind buying piece by piece from individuals I already know who I'm getting the crossmember from. Thank you.

There are lots of write ups on this, but I dont want to look for them. I know I will miss some stuff, but below is a mostly complete, compiled list.

Driveshafts:
shorter rear (not oem)
longer front (can be oem off an 80 equipped truck)

T case:
32 spline 241 (which is another conversion all on its own) OR
32 spline input shaft for your 246 (most expensive, but most plug and play)

Trans:
80e, of course. Any year, just make sure you know what year you are buying
lines, cooler, trans work you want
converter
conversion harness, or splice in an 80e connector
wiring at the PCM
Tune for the shift tables
Dipstick tube
new mount

Engine:
Depending on the year of 80 you get (and subsequent converter) you will need a flexplate with the spacer in it, with the proper bolt pattern. You can buy flexplates for this, or a special converter that has the proper spacing to work with your 5.3 flexplate

Chassis:
cross member
zip ties

That about covers what you need to compile. with junk yard, you might be able to get everything you need for 1-1.5k. Probably spend 40hrs or so doing the swap if its your first time.

It wont shift without a tune, and possibly OS flash, but not likely in the 05. So find yourself a tuner or purchase HPT/efi live
