4l60 or 4l80 with same mods-which is faster/better

80e last a whole lot longer.

60e is just faster. but will break

Brad supposedly knows his **** ... I think when I talked to him h was a little pricey, but if he'll back his words, it would be worth it in my opinion. Knowing what I know though ... I wouldn't back that with a 60e though. For what your wanting, I still think the 60 would be OK.

I really like the gear ratios on the 4L80E for a high torque motor,on a stock 5.3 you need the 3.06 first gear to get a good launch.On the 427cid motor you are planning the 2.48 first gear would be a plus with the closer gear spacing making up for any ineffecency the transmission is supposed to have.

huh, never thought about that. didnt know the gear spacing was closer

hey nathan, brad quoted me $3100 and it looks like i could get everything for the coversion for around 2900 from speed engineering. thats interesting
