I pulled the fuse for my S-10 back in the day and the cruis control stopped working. I wonder if it's the same for the full size trucks?

i don't use cruise control anyways, the line isnt even hooked up to my throttle body anymore haha. It didn't fit onto my new ported one.

I guess I might be pulling the fuse soon and see how I like it. I have done it before, but only for about 10 minutes. Will the ABS light come on on the dash?

Yup the light will come on. I have a 99 and I know klunk you speak of when you slam them bitches. I feel I can "draft" better with abs. It gives me a lil room for error if I panic break. I am a really light truck and last time my abs turned off on me and some bitch braked in the middle of an intersection on green I slammed them and was sideways throwing smoke.

If you don't live in Bakersfield and have a standard weight truck then no ABS would be ok . just my opinion

If you seldom have to use the ABS system it is easy to get confused when it activates. Driving an 6000lb Escalade ESV in Michigan it is a must. Right now we have 9" of snow on the ground and while the main streets are relatively clear, the side streets usually have snow or snow over ice. I can use the ABS 4 or 5 times just going home. You learn when the ABS kicks on you just push harder on the brakes. The advantage is you can brake and steer at the same time. By the way the truck also has Positraction and Active Handling.

I hated the braking balance on the Escape I had.
If I got hard on the brakes it would road walk like the rearend was trying to pass me. Silverado doesn't do that.

I know what you mean. Some swear ABS will make you stop faster but its sole purpose to provide steering control during panic braking whether that be locking the tires up on dry pavement, sliding on a wet pavement or slipping around in the snow. Other then that in no way shape or form does it have any effect on stopping distance. That being said I hate mine. For a while I pulled the fuse when all I had was basically front brakes because anytime I glanced at the pedal the ABS came on. Now that I've got my brakes all redone I leave the fuse in and use the ABS for the your tires are starting to slide indicator and just let up a little and all is well. ABS is for those that think mashing on the brakes in the snow makes you stop faster when all you have to do is feather the pedal and think ahead a little bit.
