Default 4 wheel disk + ABS = accident waiting to happen

If you're like me and have a silverado with the 4 wheel disk, you probably already know what I'm talking about.

The horrid ABS systems on these trucks, and how scary it is when you try to stop and hit a pot hole and all the sudden the brakes dont work worth a

I'm really getting tired of it, and am seriously thinking about pulling the ABS fuse and not using it anymore. Any of you guys done it? If I do pull the fuse, how much harder will braking in the rain be? I don't wanna put myself at even more risk during bad weather conditions. But its already scary just driving the thing on rough roads when I go to stop.

That's not a grinding, that's the ABS pump cycling the brakes to keep them from locking up.

Mine has never made that noise. and i've had to stop fast as hell to keep from splattering deer all over the road.
but my dads sonoma is really bad about it. especially the front left. when it's icy, if you just TOUCH the brakes it starts doing it.

my 99 did that and "from what the dealer told me" was the cause of my ABS goin out. i pulled the fuze like u said and never had a problem since, except for the fact that i could lock'em up when i wanted to. as for the rain issue, never had one either.

NOTE: i'm not responsible for anything that could, would, or should happen if you do that. i'm just lettin u know what i did.

True

It's actually helpful when you have to avoid something instead of just locking the brakes up. No steering when skidding.

Mine stopped great until I changed out the factory pads, now it doesnt stop as good, but if you doing a panic stop and hit a bump, holy **** hold on. It really upsets the abs system and acts like it wont stop.

That happens to me also, like going threw a intersection with the groves of the othere road that crosses get a lil hop and try to hit the breaks and get that frikin kick back.

I have never heard of anyone pullin the fuse. Try it and see what happens.
