Hi, so I have a 2007 silver 1500 classic with a 4.8 and 4l60 trans. The motor and tranny are sitting at 140k miles and are in great condition but I'm wanting more out of the truck. A friends truck got totaled so he is parting it out. I'm wanting to buy his 6.2 motor and 8l90 trans as well as the wiring harness and gas pedal off him. I'm looking for information on how hard the swap would be as well as if there's anything extra I need to buy or have made so that everything fits and works properly.

 

Only way you are going to make that combo work in your truck is to strip your truck and install every harness and module from the wrecked truck into your chassis. The older trucks OS are not capable of running the newer setups
