Agreed, not sure why GM does that. I mean yeah currently the trucks are better IMHO but why not offer whatever you can and crush the competion? As it is they will get a foothold and keep on strokin...Toyota has nothing to lose and billions to spend, GM got handed some lucky breaks (tundra only getting 4 star safety rating etc) but they aren't capitalizing on it...

I debated waiting a bit for the 6 speed, good thing I didn't. Might trade up later or drop one in myself, need you to sort that stuff out first!!

Yeah I did notice the head diffrence right off the bat. PLus, SLP is singing the praises for these 6.2 L92 heads. So they must flow good. But they are the exact same part # as the 2007 Classic 6.0 heads. So there can't be a bunch of diffrences.

I noticed the high rise intake also....and was wondering what diffence it would make on a 5.3?

I did check on that....also I own the issue of GM High Tech on this same subject. Those are SLP Heads...not OEM 6.2 heads....SLP has had them worked.

But what I'm saying is....here....read below.

12582714 part# for 6.2 H.O. heads....same part # for the 6.0 in the 2500HD
...and this is on a 2007 new Tahoe and 2007 Classic 2500HD.

So I have to ask the diffrence between teh 6.0 and the 6.2. Know what I'm saying?

There Are 2 Designes For 6.2 L Engine...with Afm And Without Active Fuel Management

Both Heads Are Showing The Same Number... 6.0 Is Also Showing It... Torque Wrench Is Correct. These Are For The "stock" Heads Though 12582714

In The Gm Performance Catalog... They Are Showing L76 And L92 High Flow Heads Are Same Design/pn... 12582713

The L76 6.0 has the L92 heads on it, that's the reason for the power increase.

So does this mean the 6.0 (I assume the VortecMax) has the L92 heads and intake?
