Pretty good little motors, well not so little considering is a 4.3L. I was tought has them as a BB v6. They are pretty dependable just treat them right and keep them maintained.

I had an '01 Silvy with a 4.3 and a 5-speed. It was a fine motor, no problems at all, just don't get in a hurry to get anywhere.

4.3's are good motors and produce a good bit of torque for a V6. I've seen a RCSB Silverado 4.3 hand it to a RCSB F-150 4.6 by about a length and a half, both were stock. Yeah they may be slow but they aren't total dogs.
