i am in the middle of my build but wanted to know whats a good cam to go with N/A? engine has flat top pistons and i will be going with ls3 heads( i chose these heads to leave room to grow down the road ), already has a 4c converter from circle d and 4.10 with posi behind it. any recommendations on what cams to go with ?

well guys my plans for my build have changed i got some flat top pistons in there but now i will be going with some milled .30 799 heads with a 228/232 cam. my question now is what will my compression be with the milled heads?

There are still a ton of variables on the table. Are they ported? Was the chamber opened up? What gaskets? Do you know the height of the piston in relation to the deck?
Taking a complete shot in the dark without knowing anything I would say you're approaching 11.5:1.

Stock gaskets are .051 . What you listed would be 1/2 inch
They must have been milled .030 . What you listed would be just under 3/8 of an inch.
If they were milled .030, Does that mean there 60 CC combustion chambers now?
Just a guess using .006 to 1 CC. Factory 799's are around 65 CC
We need accurate numbers in order to properly calculate the compression ratio.

As far as piston height i am not sure since the machine shop did all the short block i know for a fact they are ls2 rods and pistons are flat tops no valve reliefs on them. The head gaskets that machine shop gave me were enginetech HC364-A. I googled the part number and i got .51 thickness. this is a budget build so no forged parts were installed in build.
