I have 3 2009 GMC 1500wt trucks with 5.3l LH6 Engines and 6L80 transmissions. They are all low milage, 25,000 to 33,000
I have found a 1999 GMC 2500 that had the drivetrain pulled. I'd like to use one of the 09"s as a donor truck as they can't be registered to use on the road.
I understand that the 99 and 09 used different communication protocols and TCM's so I was thinking about moving everything including the dash from the 09 to the 99.

My question is will the dash from the 09 fit into the 99? The cabs look the same but I can't find an interchange.

The cabs are a lot different, at least outwardly. With enough sawzall action you could probably splice in the necessary parts of the 09 dash, but making it look good may be tough.

Are you thinking to retain A/C, radio, etc from the 09?

ive seen it done before.

also a guy has used a Gen IV drivetrain in a GMT800 truck. had a custom harness, and used a 09 TBSS ECM.
