Silverado Line- 2005 is a carryover year for the Silverado. In 2006, there is a good chance that GM will offer a nearly 400HP version of the 6.0L LS2 in a standard cab, shortbed Silverado SS. After that, the aging Silverado line will get a redesign in 2007 (GMT-900). Expect the usual increases in chassis strength, towing ability, and interior quality. Expect Chevy's current scowling look to look more "big rig" a.k.a Dodge Ram An optional 7.5L V10 powertrain will be added.
The 2007 as stated above is for the calendar year. It will be the 2008 model. This time around they will start with the SUV's first. The new SUV's will come out in 2006 as a 2007 model. 1 year ahead of the truck.

ok, not to steal the thread away from blkbeaz28 but my question about the new truck is, whats the overall performance tweaking going to be like. ok, tuning issues, overriding pod or dod either way you call it is going to be one obstical. but without the fbody guys around, is there gonna be enough people seriously tearing into the new motors to help the truck guys out. i will be the first to say, the fbody guys were instrumental in the knowledge on our trucks. imo, they helped push the truck guys past where we might have ended up.

The truck motors will be LS2 based which is LS1 based. This motor will be in all the trucks, vette, gto, trailblazer, hummer, SSR, and even caddy. Who knows what else. In 2007 Chevy should have its version of the GTO as well as the F-Body replacement. GM and aftermarket go hand and hand so you should not worry.

The DOD should be a non issue. The system coming on and off will be like your converter locking and unlocking at hwy speeds.

And the new platform should get the 6L80e six speed auto tranny.

I can only hope that they have an LS2-powered RCSB SS. The Sierra will be paid off in April of next year.
