Transmission has a ratchety sound coming from it when in first gear before it shifts and reverse. Really sounds like a card in a bicycle spoke. I paid a guy 500 about 8 months ago to build it. So i'm not going back down that road again hasn't been right sine I got it back. Was looking online sounds to me it might be the reaction planetary gear or something of that nature.

 

Whoever you paid $500 just took your money and bought some beer. NO building of any sort was done for that paltry sum. Go to an actual transmission shop, pay the $2k, get a working transmission.

Or buy a working built transmission from FLT or another reputable online vendor.

Avoid anyone boasting to be able to rebuild one for less than $1700 or upgrade one for less than $2500.
