Default 2004 4.8L engine value? only 28K miles on motor

Just a quick question, I found a smoking deal on a 20K mile 6.0L for only $900. Engine was in a frontal colission and is a complete motor however the harmonic balancer is cracked along with oil pan. I will need all the accesories along with oil pan and balancer off my 4.8 to put onto the 6.0L. What's the value of a nice LOW mileage 4.8L without accessories on the front? Engine will be sold complete from intake down incl exhaust manifolds and injectors. I should be able to get around $600 or so for my 4.8L shouldn't I?

maybe on Ebay, selling on a forum you probably won't get more than a couple hundred, when my motor swap time comes I'll just keep mine as a spare

I'd think you should be able to ,for sure, but like he said, not here. Might be easier to sell WITH the oil pan, though.

I have a complete 4.8 and I can't get anything for it. I just keep it under my work bench as a spare.

4.8 are a tough sell. No body wants them for a performance engine, only buyers are guys who just NEED an engine and maybe be a hotrod builder just looking for a late model engine for there hot rod. Not much of a market. Best guess, you would be doing good to get a couple hundred out if it.

I'd be a little weary about buying a motor with a front impact that you're talking about. A bent pulley, and cracked oil pan are pretty bad. The crank might be damaged.

I'd buy a 4.8 in a heartbeat and store it/build it radical if I had a place to store it.

cover it up, and make a wooden box around it . . . stack some hay over it. Cover the motor in wd40 . . . it'll be fine.
