Worry about what you can afford a month set a price limit. I am not paying more than $350 a month for this vehicle not $351, what can you do? This is at five years tops also.
That is how you do it. When I bought my truck I said I want to put $15,000 cash down and I want to pay this many dollars for this many months. After that he went into the back to run the numbers, when he came out he put a piece of paper onto the table and said that that was the best they could do. I didn't look at the paper and I asked if they were my numbers and he said no. I got up to leave and he asked where I was going and I told him that I was gonna buy a truck today if it was from here or somewhere else. I started to walk out and he called me back, and said that the truck was mine.
A valuable lesson my dad taught me when I was younger was that you got to be tough with the dealer because they aren't in the business to sell trucks, there in the buisiness to make themselves money.
Be tough with the dealer and call their bluff, you might be suprised.

that is exactly what I am doing, I am just working it slow. I have got them down 1500 dollars with out even going in their and talking to them. I look at monthly and that is the biggest thing for me. I dont want to spend more then 400 a month on a truck. Whats killing me is I am driving my wifes old car and I bought her a new car with the money left over after I paid off my truck loan when I sold it. So I am starting from scratch. This sucks and I bought a new house 3 months ago. Lets just say she spends all the extra money on the house.

You won't get that one for less than $400/mo unless you put alot down. On a used vehicle, figure about $20/month for every $1000 financed.

$28500 would make about $30000 after ttl, which would be about $600/month for 5 years.

I'm currently paying $521/mo for my GMC, and I bought it new for $25000 with 0 down.
