I just bought a 2003 Silverado that has the temp and compass in the inside rear view mirror which does not work. It also has an aftermarket radio. Would the info center in the mirror have run through the stock radio? The truck doesn't have OnStar. I'm just trying to figure out whether the mirror itself is bad, or if it doesn't work any more because the radio isn't the original.

 

I have the same problem with my mirror on my 04 Sierra. I dont think its a radio thing, I have an aftermarket radio too and my just stopped working last year, I think its a heat thing. If its bellow 80 outside, it works fine.

 

Cool, thanks. It'll be a while before it stays below 80 here, but I'll check it first thing in the morning and see what happens.
