I forgot about that little did bit.... Think my 99 is later production so havent really run into too many of the bastardizations not yet anyway....

Sounds like vats is screwing you. Mind did it after a motor swap. Unhooked the battery for 30ish minutes and it fixed my problem. You probably need to relearn your key to the ignition. There's a how to on here somewhere.

The funny thing is, I put my original column back in with the key and barrel out of the 2000 column and it started right up. It's been working fine with that combination for months.
