I have a good amount of lsx knowledge and everything but I just want to iron out a few things just in case. And mods if this is the wrong section sorry wasnt sure where else to put it.
I have a 2001 2wd 4l60e and 4.8 currently, i just had the rear tubes welded, diff welded (yes I know cheap way out), and 4.56 gears installed with a single chamber muffler. I plan on a 4l80e down the road when I do H/C/I.
So for the questions, its a 2002 camaro ls1 all stock. Everything should swap over and in without a problem correct?
Also is there a difference in converters from a truck and car? If money allows I might get a monster 4200 stall while the engine is out but will a stock trans be cool with it as long as I use a good cooler?
Will this be a good setup? I know a lot of people will say go with an iron 6.0 and what not. But I already have the ls1 out of a past car and im not shooting for the moon just hoping for a fun dd nitrous truck.

Everything will bolt up fine. I believe one of the AC compressor bracket bolts will have to be left out as the Ls1 block doesn't have a provision for it. Also, you will need to swap crank pulleys to get the belts to line up and the truck coil brackets don't line up with the Ls1 valve cover holes but you can make it work (this is only if the Ls1 has the perimeter bolt valve covers which I believe came in the earlier years so you may not have to worry about this). You may also want to swap the oil pans and pick-up tubes/windage trays although I cant remember if its absolutely necessary or not.
As for the stall I am not 100% sure if the converters are the same but I would think they would be close and if anything the car converter may stall a bit higher than designed behind the extra weight of the truck. I personally would never go over a 3800ish stall on anything that's not a dedicated race vehicle but it all depends on your driving style and what you can tolerate. You would definitely want a big trans cooler with any aftermarket stall.
I think your on the right track. I like the Ls1 engines for the weight savings and the bump in cubic inches. Put a small shot on it and it should be fun.

Yea I actually have a spare pan and tube sitting with the engine. I plan on redoing all the gaskets and stuff before putting it in.
and as for a stall I use to run a 3600 with 4.11's in my camaro and loved it. then road in a buddies with a 4000 and 3.73's then fell in love with my friends 4000 and 4.10's. Im thinking with a 4000 and 4.56s it should jump off the line hold its on from a roll and be decent to drive around town. I am also that crazy guy that just loves the feel of driving a "racecar" around town.
