So, I F**ked up my roll pan today and I'm thinking about going back to a regular step bumper.

I still have my original one but it has a dent in it so I'm looking at buying this: 99-07 SILVERADO / SIRRA 1500 2500 FLEETSIDE REAR BUMPER BLK W/BRACKET HITCH ASSY | eBay

It say's it wont work on 2500HD's only light duty trucks, but I think I can swap the brackets to make it work. Anyone know if this will work.

You're correct, only the brackets are different. And the step pad is a tiny bit different but 99% of people would never notice.
