Default 145 alternator

Anyone know if there is a way to either wire up or swap plugs on a 145 amp "2 wire square plug" so that I can put it on my truck with the 105 amp "3 wire plug"?

Bump for you...I swapped a 145amp alt into my truck, but I went from a 1 wire plug to a 2 wire plug of the same shape....

Not really sure what kind of alternator you're talking about, but I swapped to an 06 145 amp alternator off a silverado and it was a direct plug and plug aside from needing a slightly longer belt.

I *think* that the abs system monitors battery voltage to be sure that there is enough reserve juice to fire up the abs solenoids if necessary. Pretty sure that there are ABS codes for low battery voltage...If your truck is not equipped with that wire, I bet you could run the alternator and it wouldn't affect it's operation. You might just have to get the square connector and wire it in

I may try to wire it up tomorrow and see what happens or what code it throws. As well as see what kinda voltage the 3rd wire has I might just tap it into another wire.

I don't see why not, I have an 02 PCM and I'm running a 145 amp alt from an 03...I just had to run 1 wire from the alt to the PCM that my 99 harness didn't have. Since you're an 02, that wire should already be there (I believe it was the duty cycle wire that I had to run)

I didn't have to run any wires and mine is a 99?
