My best guess this truck is running 4" exhuast, intake, and programming. Maybe propane. ATS doesn't sell Nitrous or injectors.

This is from ATS Diesel's site. They build bad-to-the-bone converters as well as have the stuff to make the Allison 1000 take some serious abuse...about 1400rwtq! They also have a few hop up items like stackable programmers, 4" exhaust systems, propane, and air intakes. All that is left are some Diesel Dynamics or Bully Dog injectors and some Nitrous...

 

HITMAN....my buddy quad at Quadzilla had a new cummins runnin 12s with twin turbos, exhaust and a chip(box), injectors...he's the man. he has a Dmax red 4 door now that's FAST AS HELL...not sure of the mods so far but he's building a custom turbo system for the dmax trucks and a box to compliment it. should be nutts after that.

 

I have never driven or ridden in a worked over Turbo Diesel. I drove a new '03 DMax a few months back and it left some to be desired...apparently they run totally different once they break in. Have you ridden it or driven it? Does it have face distorting thrust?

Keep me posted on what he is doing to the turbo on the DMax. I am pretty sure I am going this route, hopefully pretty soon. Is it getting ported and balanced?

 

hitman...come to fort worth one day and we'll get together and i'll take ya over there to meet Quad...i rode in the old cummins(it was the new cummins motor in an 03 dodge) and it had the kind of torque that just hurt your heart when it left

 

Their is nothing like walking away from a gas guzzling 8.1 liter in my Dmax.It gets 20mpg@7300lbs.I'm waiting for other peoples wallets to R&D new stuff before I get serious about getting my Dmax in the low 13s.Good to see people making progress.

It sure is,these things are amazing.It's not like the old days when they smoked real bad,would'nt start and were as slow as molasses on a cold day.The truck has pulled a 20,000 lb trailer more times than I can count.The 20mpg is @ 70mph,empty on the freeway.I get 16 mpg in regular driving.

 

I will have to when I am about to do the swap from the Z71 to the HD. I just need to see how one drives broken in and build some...just to make sure I'll be happy with it.

 

Is that guy from Colorado? If he's running 12's up there I can imagine MUCH faster time slips at sea level.
