Went 15.677 best....
Truck is all stock except for dumped 40 series. I removed my tailgate and spare but left my sub box in. Track is at 1000ft and temps were in the mid 60s. Humidity was around 80-90 percent and dewpoint was in the 50s. Ran stock 16s with 255/70/16 generals. I had terrible wheel hop and one of the runs the g80 cluthes slipped I guess cause it went to one wheel and smoked the tire. I was hopin for better times.
What do you guys think about the time? How can I cure the wheel hop?
Im gonna try and upload the vid of the one wheel peel.

When I first went to the track, I had full weight except for my tailgate. Off the line it had bad wheel hop and later on it turned into a one wheel peel for about 50 feet or so. One of the weak points of the G80 is it turns into a one wheel peel after 20 MPH. The next time I went to the track the weather was the same and I had an Extang roll up bed cover on and my tailgate back on. I had no traction problems and I cut my ET by .5 sec in the 1/8 mile. I would recommend at least putting your spare back on and possibly your tailgate. The added weight will improve your traction.

Weight reduction on the back of the truck is a bad idea. I'd keep the spare and tailgate as well. I ran a 15.6 @ 90mph in my rcsb 4.8 with an intake, shorty headers, flowmaster, and hpp3. I think I may be able to squeeze a few tenths out with launching a bit harder.

Put up your 60' and MPH. that's the most important part of the timeslip we need to tell you what your truck is capable of.
For instance I can spin like hell and runa 16sec 1/4mile but at 90mph. Or I can get a decent hook and run a 15.29@90mph. See the difference?

Heres the times...somehow I lost the 15.677 slip but I have my slip from the 2nd best run at 15.708
R/T 1.120

330 7.165
1/8 10.671
MPH 70.77
1000 13.680
1/4 16.277
MPH 86.50
R/T .995

Next time I go out there I guess I will put the spare back on and clamp the overload leaf spring...

I think your on the right path with weight reduction, let the tires down to about 20 psi and heat em up some before you launch avoid the water with some track prep it should hook. I managed a 9.0 1/8 and 2.0 60' doing that with it in 2wd on stock tires that are bald.
As far as the wheel hop I would just put some spring clamps on do a search on here theres a good write up with pics. feather it a little. I cant imagine you should be having that much trouble

i saw the smoke from the first run, weight reduction is fine, just do what 02sierraz said and you'll be fine.. lower tire pressure and a good warm up
That little sport side you were racing was a damn dog wasnt it... i guess he was stock too, or was a v6, maybe?
