I've been having the same problem as your dad. The dealer wants to keep swapping in new batteries because they dont know what the real problem is. They also mentioned this is not the only truck they have had this issue with. Sounds like it could be a bigger problem than what i originally thought. The dealer told me GM hasnt released any fixes for it, so that means theres not a problem Maybe one of the our members who work at the dealerships can chime in and give some more insight.

I have not heard of the blinkers and other items but the radio clock resetting is a known problem to gm. Mine does it and there is a known condition by gm the last i looked a few weeks ago it still said that engineering was working on a solution i believe it said "an update". I will try to remember to look tomorrow and post a response.

I had a problem with a new body style tahoe that had an inoperative lift gate glass and rear defroster and after much hair pulling it turned out to be the underhood fuseblock. After we replaced it, after finally catching it acting up everything has been fine for over a month.

in 2005 i bought a 05 chevy colorado xtreme and it was doing the same things your mentioning about the radio resetting i thought that was the only problem but it turned into others: my power windows went out the day i drove the truck HOME from the dealerlot just all kinds of crazy stuff they speedometer stopped working and stopped adding trip miles it was stuck at like 700 so i took it to them they replaced the radio and the cluster but as soon as i hit the freeway the truck was at it again speedo stopped so the next day i took the truck in and they allowed me to swap it for any vehicle on the chevy lot 30gs and under so i did and bought a 05 silverado and thats the truck i have to this day i love it but man go get your money back threaten to sue cuz u have a lemon just like i did - - hurry cuz ur statue of limitation is running out as soon as i told them i was about to letigate they gave me a deal to go trade a 20g truck in for a 30g truck they knew they were in the wrong tottally for selling a lemon -

About a week after I got the truck the clock starting resetting to 12 on its own, then the radio would drop out. When the radio drops out there is no display at all AND the blinkers won't make the click noise. The onstar and phone goes out too when this happens. It will then just cycle back on - sometimes not at all when I am driving - but of course it will within a block from the dealer as I bring it in.

It seems to cycle on for about 3.5 hours (I can tell by the time on the clock) then drops out.

Dealer has replaced the radio 1x
BCM 1x
checked all grounds and connections
It is in the shop now to replace the radio again ??????

There is a software problem with one of the other radios - but not this one.

I only have 600 miles on the truck and have owned for only 3 weeks.

I seriously doubt another radio swap will fix it.

I love this truck - and there is no way they will replace it over this problem - but I am frustrated.

Anybody hear of this? Any tips or tricks to fix? The dealer is desperate too as they are being told by GM that even GM doesn 't know what it is.

Here is the good news. They replaced the fuse block and there has been no problem since.

All is well!

GM's newer fuse blocks have had issues with opens in the circuit boards ever since they came out, they are really tricky to diagnose because they are non-servicable items, which means we cant tear them apart to see whats goin on inside of them without destroying the block.
