Default 07 Dod People Watch Out

my 07 5.3 tahoe motor at start up would not turn crank is locked blew up it only have KM.12.500 on the speedo dealer called me and told me you will need new motor so today i went to look what happend and one of the connecting rods has a big bend.. i asked what happend and he says one of the injectors was stuck open flooded the chamber and the pressure bent the rod and maybe damaged the crank DAM DOD crap

At least warranty should replace the motor. There is a problem with some of the AFM lifters and I think there are updated ones.

yes under warrantee.. but i hope they dont say anything about the catback did this

dumb questoin what does dod have to do with a stuck open injector?

Kind of what I was thinking, this could have happened on any engine with a fuel injector.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DOD SSYTEM.... ITS JUST A FAULTY INJECTOR. THATS LIKE SAYING ONE HARD DRIVE GOES OUT AND EVERYONE SHOULD EXPECT THERES TO. ITS JUST PART OF HAVING A PIECE OF MACHINERY. PARTS FAIL. THAT DOESNT MEAN ITS AN EPIDEMIC

Couldn't the AFM lifter failed causing the lifter to not open the valve causing the Hydrolock from the fuel injector.

If you knew which cylinder actually hydro locked then that could help to eliminate the AFM lifter.

uum if the valve don't open how does fuel get in?

not all the valves are closed when the engine is off, he probable got lucky and had one of the injectors leak on an open valve

thats what i figure and that wouldn't have anything to do with dod.
