Displacement On Demand is where the computer kills 4 cylinders when cruising to save on fuel. You can tune it to engage/disengage at different speeds to get the most out of it.

What engine do you have in it right now?

Also alot of the posts are from regular cab guys. So if you want to compare your avalanche look at the Crew Cab guys.

I say get a NNBS and a tune and you'll be set.

6.0 should be getting close to 20 on the highway regardless of cab/rear end configuration. 16.5 on the highway is abysmal.

I get about 12-14 in town and the last trip I got 18.5 mpg.

I get roughly 15-16 city and 20-21 highway.

Stock 2wd 5.3 ExtCab w/DoD and 3:42's.
The wife gets 17-18 in the city.
I got 20-21 highway. Could have gotten better but over 70 the AFM likes V8 mode.
The worst I've seen was 16.
