so my dad drives an 05 avalanche and sometimes when he goes to crank it the thing will just turn over and not even try to fire. The security light (or whatever the padlock thingy light is) will flash but i dont know if thats part of it or just what it does. Also sometimes when you are driving that same light will randomly come on and stay on. The truck still cranks and drives fine but that light is on.

Im not sure if it was because of this problem but the battery went dead twice on him so we just got an optima red top and put in it too.

does anyone have an idea of a common problem for this or something we need to check?
