@MagicianElectrician Also, will the DIC work? I am assuming that it will not but I am hoping that it will. I do know that you are able to wire up the Denali/Escalade DIC and it will work like normal in a non Denali Esky

I do not know if PI Clusters DIC works. I think I saw that it does but I really don't know.

On the phone, PIClusters said 100% working. I even asked specifically. I haven't asked this other guy. I'm willing to bet: yes it works. Can't say for sure if it will give you all the different info options the true 03-06 models have. I have no idea. As long as it does at least what mine does already (just better looking) then I'm good with that.

Actually thinking about it now, I have no idea how you would get the DIC working. We would have to swap the wheels to the 03-07 with buttons and someone wire in the buttons. I doubt it is possible the way we want tbh. That would be like standalone wiring into the cluster.

I thought I found that there are two separate part numbers, for two different BCMs, based on whether it has the DIC or not. It's not just programming it, but I would guess you would need to swap out the BCM for the correct one, then probably reprogram. Could be 100% wrong though.

No there are two separate P/Ns for BCMs but one is for a CC and one is for an Ext/RC. All BCMs are programmed to have a DIC but it is the gauge cluster that is the determining factor.

Plus we can’t put an 03-07 BCM in the 99-02 anyways so it just rules that out.

Swapping to the newer steering wheel (column) has been on my "want" list for a while anyway so if that's required to get the DIC fully functional then I might have to get going on that project

@MagicianElectrician Technically yes technically no. If we could "hack", for lack of a better word, into the gauge clusters pinout and wire up the buttons directly to it then yes that would work. But if you can't do that then no it won't work.
I need to see the electrical schematic for the DIC. I am willing to bet that the buttons go to the BCM first and then to the DIC. If they don't then awesome that actually would work OR if the BCM has the same outputs as it does inputs it could probably work as well.

Point being is getting the DIC buttons on the wheel is going to be one hell of a task.

I had found a video on the DIC pin outs and wiring it in and thought I had bookmarked it but of course now I can't find it 🙄 I've got plenty other projects to do with this thing right now anyway to be in any rush on this cluster deal (ex. Replacing rear main seal / oil pan gasket) 😮‍💨

I just wanna let you know that the cluster project is the most important project. Screw the rear main and oil pan! You would be a national hero if you figure this out!

I just meant for me personally I've got more pressing matters to address on this thing first so I can keep it rolling. No point in a new cluster if the gauges always read 0 🙃 Don't get me wrong tho, I still want one! And I'm waiting to hear back from this person for updates as well. In the meantime, there's some really good info videos for clusters/electronics on YouTube to check out. A few of my favorites channels are Fixed Until Broken, jeffescortlx, and Lsx Matt
