Pi clusters used a really bad method for this that will never last, he essentially cut traces and and tried to Frankenstein to air core motors. This swap has been done in combination with a a p59 PCM swap. You also must tune the p59 to send the serial data to the data line for the voltage and oil. I'm in the process of doing this process now. I have a dbc p59 pcm that I've tuned for this swap and hoping to have it in the truck in the next few days. Currently just trying to figure out the wiring harness. Its about 95% the same as my stock 0411 harness even. I'm just trying to figure out what I gotta do with the EGR since 03+ trucks don't have one. The A/C signaling is different but I did use a patch for that, also the generator signal from the pcm is a different pin. Once I figure out this p59 swap I have an 06 cluster that I kept from my work(I repair clusters for a living) and I am going to swap it should be within this week. I'm happy to share any information I have on this and can point you to some forums where someone has already done it

@LSxAutumn I knew about the cut traces and rerouting but I did not know about the air core motors. I am unsure what you really mean by that though. I am guessing you mean they take different power points perhaps than the stepper motors? You know more on that than I. ALSO how do you even know that? Do you have a PI Clusters cluster?
I don't think there is a legal way around EGR although perhaps you could make the claim that you have a newer model engine that does not use EGR and get the title work done if you are in such a need. Although if you are doing a P59 swap then the legality of removing EGR becomes moot since that PCM is going to read incorrectly from the state I would think. Perhaps a segment swap could regain your EGR system? I am unsure.

I didn't even think you could P59 swap a P01. @1FastBrick You ever done that? And if so then why even P59 swap and instead just go straight for the E38 like you once were talking about doing.

IMO, Its easier to just swap the 03- up wiring... You can E38 Swap but you can't retain the AC control with out some additional work.

Now the E67 you can fully swap and make work with the 03-up electronics.... This is something I want to play with at some point in the future.

Ah E67 swap, my mistake. BUT that brings me back to my point. Could you not just swap in an E67 if you could do a P59 swap in a P01 application? Then 6L80 4 dayzzzz

That's correct but is a P01 to P59 swap possible? PCMHacking believes so. Which leads me to believe that a P01 to E67 shouldn't be out of the realm of impossibility.

What are you really gaining though going from P01 to P59?

1 MB PCM mainly. Also according to the lady above the ability to run the 03-06 cluster in a 99-02.

Also I would think that doing an e-fan swap would be much easier. Either people are morons but I constantly see some issues with AC and e-fans on earlier trucks. Native segments, flex-fuel, 3-bar etc. I would think are better.

Like I said, easier to swap the wiring to 03 up if you want that... Plenty of them in the wrecking yards...

I was going to suggest swap cab wiring harnesses from an 03+...but wasn't sure if that was possible? Is that what you are referring to?

But then don't you also have to swap hVAC box, steering wheel (maybe), airbag module, BCM, radio, and engine harness and ECU, no?
