not sure how recommended this is, but on the top of your steering box theres a hex head bolt with a nut locking it down, loosen the nut and tighten the hex bolt until tight, then secure it with the locking nut and your steering feels good again. not sure for how long though. I believe it adjusts the "shim" for the box, where the gears hit eachother so the looseness is mostly gone, but longevity I dont see lasting more than a year or so before its loosening up again, so I figured I would start shopping for a new one

DO NOT turn that screw more than a half turn! Do maybe a 1/8th turn to tighten it up, but do not tighten it all the way down. In all likely hood it will destroy the gear box if you turn it more than a half turn.

If your steering sucks, consider replacing the pitman and idler arms since those will wear out.

The pitman, idler, and tie rod ends are in good shape. Still have crazy slack in my steering and it's always acted a little funny since I bought the truck with 22k on it. Probably needed to be adjusted then, and has worn itself out in the last 60k due to slack in it... idk. I'll try tightening it up and see how that does until I can get a new one.
