If you have piston to valve clearance problems, the valves would hit the pistons and bend valvetrain components (valves, pushrods, etc.) and potentially damage pistons.

Well, the big idea of roller rockers is to reduce friction and gain power (not enough to notice though). If your rockers are OK, I don't belive that these rockers will change the noise any. I'm taking a shot because I think that some of the needle bearings in some of my rockers are worn, and I decided to upgrade. The other advantage to these rockers is that they come in a 1.8:1 ratio which is larger than the factory 1.7:1 and will increase valve lift. (alot of guys here feel that larger ratio rockers are a waste for the money, and to just get a bigger cam...but opinions vary) I went with the factory ratio because I'm planning on keeping this truck mellow and building it around the cam that's in there now...If I go bigger on anything else it'll be cubic inches

Comon budhayes. Some cams lope, the ones we have make tapping noises. Hahaha. Those sure are purty rockers. I may have to get a set, let me know if it takes care of the noised the 918's make.
