A bunch of v8 vortec guys have had good luck with this aluminum housing distributor.
V6 version:

If I ever need a new distributor, I will be getting one of these from this seller.

I'm looking on car-part now. I found a bunch for $30 and they're pulled. I think I'm going to go that route I cracked my distributor tonight when putting my new cap on.
