thanks for all the posts matt, all GEN 3 engines are referred to as ls1 engines right? the 4.8 is a lr4 the 5.3 is a lm7 the f-body and a vette are ls1 the 2001 vette is a ls6 and the 6.0 is a lq4. this isnt ls1,lr4,lm7,ls6,lq4.com. i'm just saying all gen 3 engines are referred to as ls1 because of their block design. maybe you'll like this better i have a 2002 lm7 truck water pump with good fan and clutch for sale. how many people understand lm7?

Glad you guys finally cleared this up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Oh, and nobody referes to the truck engines as LS1's. They refer to them as 4.8,5.3, 6.0 or their LM7/LR4 etc...designation. Or refer to them as LS1 based and then the correct size. When you say LS1 on this board in the truck section, guys here know that as the 5.7 aluminum block f-body engine. The truth is, the LS1 was just the first designation in the Gen III design. But not everything is interchangeable between them. Although "almost" everything will bolt up, belt routings, fuel systems, and diagnostics may not depending on the year. But I also understand that is not part of the "motor". Would you refer to a LM7 intake manifold asn an LS1 intake? Because if a car guy bought it under that description, he will get a suprise. I hope this will clarify things. I'll leave this open for now, but anymore flames, and the padlock comes out!
