I'd like those gears, but will they fit my '00 Silvy 1/2 ton?

Sure, they should. I think all the 1500 trucks (except perhaps the VHO and 2WD SS) have 8.6" ring gears.

Here is the EBay link again....http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmrQ5fsandog

The 160A alternator still has yet to receive a bid....hmm. I thought this would be a great item for people with 2-conductor connectors on their stock 105A alternators.

And I've actually heard that some people are considering getting the instrument cluster as a 'cheap' version of an extended warranty, if you can believe that.

Anyway, stuff ends Sunday at 7PM Pacific Time.

I thought it was 8.5" ring gears.?. Hmmm, I'm going to watch 'em close then.

I think 8.5" and 8.6" ring gears are interchangeable, but I'm not completely certain....the older GM's have 8.5", the newer ones have 8.6", but use the same carriers, same differential housings, etc.

I have two wires to my alt but it has the same 4 prong connector as you, what did you find out, I have not heard much myself.

There's a thorough discussion with some schematics over here at the Avalanche site. I could have modified a few things and taken some risks to make it fit, but when all was said and done it wasn't clean enough for me, so I'm selling. It's a shame, the Bosch alternator is a very nice unit.
