POSSIBLE TRADE? hot pipes for procharger head unit?
#1
I've been tossing around the idea of trading my custom turbo headers for a procharger headunit?? Must be a D1 or bigger, would like a F1C more so. These are a completely custom turbo manifold set with cross overs. All stainless and very thick walled tubbing, you would easily pay some one 2-3k to build you a set like this with materials and labor. They have also been black HPC coated which cost another 350! let me know if there is any intrest. Does anyone know how big i can go on a stock procharger bracket?? F1R??

I know someone with a full 8 rib D1sc setup front mounted custom piping Truck is running 22 psi of boost on a 370 right now. We had alot of issues with the 8 rib setup working early on. Finally got it worked out using the duramax pensioner. It works really well it's an awd SS truck and will go off idle with a 3000 stall and blow all four tires off for about 300 feet. He is planning on selling it and going turbo. Mainly because he wants to try something new. The procharger setup's can work. It just takes time and patience which most guys choose the turbo route to avoid the belt issues.
You can use the F1c in the stock bracket setup no issue. Eventually the problem that comes about with the procharger bracket is the bigger and heavier the head unit and the more boost you push as the engine torques against it it causes the bracket to flex and puts strain on the alternator pulley and the alternator snout bushings which eventually wear them down.
I can't post the numbers the truck has run for privacy reasons the guy doesn't want his numbers on the internet he street races the truck regularly.
I can tell you in a 2wd short bed short cab a low 10 second pass is possible with good traction with the exact setup that is running right now.
If you are interested in the setup you can PM me for info I will answer as best I can.
Good luck!
