The pod can be printed positioned differently to have the layers flow either horizontally or vertically, but while that also uses more support material, the strength of the important features could be compromised due to print flow direction. To me, that is the area with the slots/tabs that I'm nervous about.
Funny this came up, I was actually thinking of splitting the part up and printing two pieces that I would glue together ... so I would get the strength where I need it while also getting the finish desired for the face.

Is that the little slot where the traction control button is? My next project is to make a replacement for that small area ... atleast on the LT models. Pic of the area you're talking about? Cos it looks like some LTZ have that same feature.

Nitrous switch plate I'm making for someone. Doing this in ABS plastic. Had to re-design the whole part to accommodate the finicky material. New parts will be of this new design, that also improves the surface finish/layers etc. I have also thought of reducing the upwards tilt (and recessing the standard gauge pod design at that angle) due to issues I'm having on my personal truck with visibility on a bright day due to reflection.
