No... there is no real way to tell unless you take out a spark plug and look or pull off the heads, 4.8 are flat top pistons, 5.3 are dished pistons. This block has the dish pistons hence the 5.3...

 

Cool, wasn't doubting what is being sold, I just didn't want to make an expensive mistake in the future since I am a newbie at the LSx engines now.
