the fans will fit all the trucks reguardless of what motor is in it the 4.6 and 5.3 trucks had the smaller radiator to save gm a couple bucks per unit but even the larger radiator will fit in trucks that originally came with the small ones.

The fans most guys are getting off of Ebay from G&R and other places are for 34" cores.

MOST trucks with the 4.3, 4.8 and 5.3 did NOT come with 34" radiators, rather they came with 28" cores.

So, You'll have to change the radiator for a 34" core, which, like you said, will fit as the holes and mounts are there. Even the trans cooler lines will reach.
