4L60E for 1998+ 2WD trucks (with bolt on bell housing)
This was built by Roland who works at Inland Chevy in Hemet CA...he built both my and James B. 4L60E's....one of the best tranny guys around here!
Most tranny shops will not warranty a HP tranny...but Roland said he would warranty his workmanship for ONE YEAR*!
Includes the following parts and upgrades on the complete overhaul:
1. Extreme Duty rear planets with 5 pinion gears. These two planet gears are twenty years past due, this has always been a weak point on the 700R4 transmissions. (These are new 4L65E OEM planet gears.)
2. Extreme Duty "The Beast" reaction shell. Redesigned sun gear shell for the 4L60E transmissions by strengthening and reinforcing the neck collar spline area using thicker material. Known for loosing reverse, 2nd and 4th gears the 700R4 sun gear shell has a very high fatigue failure rate.
3. Raybestos Z-pack 3-4 extreme duty clutch Pack...This friction material is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art material that measurably increases clutch pack performance and durability. It was developed for superior performance in today’s demanding transmissions. Z-pack withstands high horsepower and repeated cycling, measurably increasing clutch pack performance and durability. Testing of the X-32 material with the new single-sided clutch system shows that X-32 out performs OE by as much as 30%. This is the only single sided clutch plate capable of handling high energy power shift applications. Now you can reap all the benefits of a single sided clutch design without the worry of coning. This kit has 14 single sided clutches.
4. 4L60E Corvette intermediate servo. This is the servo that comes from the factory in Corvettes and high performance Camaros.
5. 29 element Borg Warner forward input sprag. This 29 element sprag is much better than the other 29 element sprag, because the double cage design makes the 29 elements apply in a more even manor preventing the elements from flipping.
6. Complete Transgo Stage Shift Kit with PWM removed! No more SES lamps! Complete Thrust Bearings installed through out. High energy band.
7. Extreme Duty Torque Drive Package. You get a hardened input shaft and drum assembly plus a hardened reaction shell and bearing. Every time you think there's nothing else that can be done to a 4L60E, here it comes. These parts are made to with-stand way over 600 foot pounds of torque. Starting with select cores, the input shaft / drum assembly is disassembled and visually inspected. Then super heated until fully expanded and then X-rayed for internal cracks. Heating the drum collapses any carbon pockets thus ultimately strengthening the cast and stabilizes it. This process is followed by a flux test to determine if any external fractures are present. If all checks well a specially machined alloy support ring is then married to the drum.
Shaft: The shaft is cold and hot chemically forge treated to a military standard Rockwell 38 hardness. Then stress relieved which gives the shaft double the strength of its stock counterpart. The parts are reassembled and spun balanced at 9500 RPM. This step insures that this assembled unit will spin true with absolutely no harmonic vibrations to disturb engaging parts (stock factory units were never balanced to this degree). The input shaft / drum assembly comes with a specially machined over-run piston and high temperature seal.
Heavy Duty Shell / Bearing Assembly: A new reaction shell is provided with a reinforced hub that is approximately twice the thickness of an OEM reaction shell. The reaction shell is hardened then spun balanced at 9500 RPM. We replace the OEM plastic thrust washer with a roller thrust bearing to reduce heat. A specially machined and hardened rear planetary inner race is included to complete the assembly.
8. B&M two level cast aluminum pan. Fits 700R4 / 4L60 / 4L60E transmissions. Holds 4 extra quarts.
9. Your choice of low milage stock truck torque converter or rebuilt Corvette HP Torque converter which will give a 2500 rpm stall on a built or SC engine.
Trans comes Complete with all electronics and saftey neutral switch installed ready to install.
