I passed smog with this cam in CA. Didn't change a thing on the truck to do so either. It's a great cam that will work well in many applications.

With the +4 advancewas it pretty smooth on idle, or could you tell it was cammed?

You can tell it's cammed. Especially in a 4.8/5.3.
