nah, its not worth it to put on a 4.8L... you'd have to launch that thing so high to have a decent 60' foot, the peak power of that cam might be past 6500 rpms.. and no way you're spinning a stock internal 4.8L higher than that without some type of problems later on

i have the tr224 (224/224 .563 .563) and if i launch it any lower than 2500 rpms.. i see 2.2-2.1 60 foots all day and a slow launch all togetther.

yeah id say its a little big for the 4.8, but i just had a little accident this past fri. night, output shaft go boom! and it looks like ill be beefing the tranny up a bit so ill have to wait a few weeks before i can get another cam, so i wont be able to pull this one out just quite yet. im sorry guys. but keep your eyes on the classifieds because it will be on here again soon.

I will say the cam is a performer. I've seen it run.

A 4.8 would be at the very begining of in the overcammed range. If you had good headers, exhaust and other supporting mods, you could run it. It woul need more compression than a stock motor though. If you bumped the compression up, it would be a fun cam.

My 5.3 lasted for a long time turning 6600 and even 7k. Just keep the oil changed like you should and it will be OK for a long while.
