Any ideas on my 305?

I have a '82 Chevy longbed pick-up. It is the biggest hunk of crap I have ever had to drive. It use to belong to my wife's uncle, who had a stroke and now has lots of medical bills. So I bought the truck for sentimental reasons. My Ta is getting up there in mileage, and I want to put some more power threw it without breakin stuff. So I was thinking of leaving my ls1 stock and putting it in the truck, leaving me open to a 383 stroker/ls2/ls7 type engine for my Ta. So how much should I try to sell the motor in the truck for? It is a 305 with like 116,000 miles. It has a new carb on it, and I have no idea if it has been re-built. It had sat for like 6 months before I pulled it back to Texas. After the new (by new, I me a new re-built) carb it runs pretty sound. Anyway I want to put it in the truck trader, and not get ripped or get laughed at
