Im not too sure.... I know people do conversions to add steering wheel controls, etc so I would think you can.

As far as I can tell, the wheel itself should be a direct swap for the '02 and earlier trucks like mine, but the controls will never work on an '02. I'm also concerned with the airbag working or not. SIKDMAX can you take a pic of the backside of the bag and of the connecting plug please? Thanks very much.

In the steering wheel there is a 4 pin connector for the controls. The airbag pops in with 2 dowels, and has 2 round 2 pin connectors that plug into the airbag harness. See here:

Wheel was in use for 14k easy miles before being removed for Momo quick disconnect for off road race truck (thats where all these parts are coming from). No damage, leather chafing, etc on the wheel.

BTW.... real nice truck man.

steering wheel will not work with the 99-02 models. The 03+ have a smaller mounting hole.

What do you mean smaller mounting hole? The splined part of the steering shaft? I'd almost bet that they aint that far from the same. As GM aint gonna change every part out in a column they already make. But I could be wrong. SIKDMAX, thanks for getting pictures up of the back of that bag. I'm looking to do a '03+ steering wheel retrofit onto my '01 Silverado, but was told that to get the airbag to work, they make a bag that only utilized a 1 plug harness. I'll be trying it with a non button wheel and a 1 plug bag supposedly found on 1 ton trucks. Thanks for the vis aids mang.
