Has anyone ordered this converter from yank with a different STR? I was thinking of getting a higher STR to give my truck a harder launch. Are there any drawbacks to doing this??

Yeah traction definately would not be a problem, thats why i was considering this, but there has to be some kind of drawback somewhere, or more people would be doing it. Does anyone have any ideas???

i have no idea but i am not happy that my yank3000 only stalls 2000. i mean i could get my stock one close 1500 and it does not impress me. so needless to say i am not very happy with the yank right now.

I think that by changing the STR for more torque, you would be giving up some efficiency. A converter isn't going to make more power, its just going to transform the power you have. So to get a larger STR, you will probably have to give something up. Whether that means losing some efficiency or making it stall a little higher, I'm not sure.
Sleeper - Have you contacted Yank? My 3000 will easily climb in the low 2000s at part throttle and higher if I stomp it. I guess your truck is running? Whats up?

I dont want the 3200 because that is a little to close to the weight that i will be towing with this truck. I guess im going to have to call Yank and ask them about it
