Default Yank Tt3000

I need some help here guys. I really want to put a Yank TT3000 in my truck, but I am hesitant. I really want one bad, like this week while TBYRNE still has them on sale. This is my daily driver and I don't want to "ruin" it. (lol) I have started moddin' before and not been happy until the car was a roller cammed', non vacuum makin', neighborhood wakin' up, cam 2 burnin, piece of ****!! Well, maybe not quite that bad, but you get the point. Looking for someone to "push me over the edge" and convince me to get the damn TT3000. I really don't want to jeopardize the reliability or the drivability of the truck, but I sure could use another 4 to 5 tenths too! ha ha....HELP! Somebody talk me into this before the sale ends on Sunday. They are 10% off until then. Thanks.

Thanks for the response, I'm gonna get it, but like you I am hesitant. I also plan on adding a Hughes aluminum finned pan from Summit Racing when I do. The pan holds like 2 or 3 extra qts. and I heard it really makes a difference in trans temperature. My brother-in-law is a professional mechanic, I mean, not like at Pep-boys or a tire shop but he actually has his own shop where he just about does it all, so the install will be covered. My truck has the factory g80 posi that so far (knock on wood) has been great! I recently changed the fluid and added the GM posi additive when I did. It seems to be holding great so far. The Escalade wheels and the tires I put on them wound up being about an inch shorter than stock, which gives me more gear and helps out of the hole. Thanks again for the response, and hopefully I'll have it in before the X'mas holidays.

dude, you are from MD. are you a terps fan? i drove down to college park a few winters ago with my best friend and saw them play GT. that was at the old cole field house. waiting to get tickets eventually to the comcast center. i also have a friend that lives in baltimore. he flies airplanes. maybe you have seen him around. he works for a company that flies banners behind airplanes. seen any around?

ya, go for the yank. fun to drive if you got traction. good to hear you have someone to install it for ya. or else that could of been a headache.

happy holidays

MIKE

Here's some mre help for ya to make you hurry it up. I absolutely loved the TT2600 in my black truck. After getting used to it, I decided they should some factory with about that size stall and I wanted to move up tot he 3k stall. I didn't get the 3k one for the same reasons your hesitant.

After trading that one in on my new one .. I have a TT3000 sitting on my floor right next to me in the box waiting for a tranny to be dropped to slip onto.

yank 3k here......for about 2k miles or so - no problems whatsoever. I have the factory trans cooler, no shift kit or anything besides the predator quickening the shifts. I would recommend the Yank - it feels almost stock until you put your foot in it then it gets to 3k mighty fast and stays in the power band after the shifts. My mileage didn't go down much if any - its a very comfortable stall

Once I get some drag radials + slicks I can get some "real" track times + take advantage of the stall. 20's with all season goodyears = maximum slippage

Hey badmofo, where do you live in b'more? I live in jessup. I have tried to get together with xlr8 but he's always too busy sorry john had to pick.
About the yank (not to change subjects) I am the same way, its more so about the money though. I like my toy too much to spend money on my truck though dammit. 4 wheelers that is. Anyway from what I have read, definately the way to go and won't hurt your truck.

hey i was hesitant to get one to. Century automotive made my factory converter a stall-2500-and in take my family on trips and drive it often.man it is a great upgrade and mine is very driveable to. revs up to about 900 to 1000 and takes off.and no more dip in rpms when it shifts.

I'm also eager to jump into modding other parts of my drivetrain. Got the engine good to go for now , don't think I want to go with a SC and/or built motor until I get a FLP lvl 4 tranny. I'd love to get a Yank TT3000 while there on sale, but I've heard some complains that FLP doesn't like them with their trannies. Maybe I'll give Vigilante a call and inquire about their towing capacity. Also, I was holding off till the next generation of Yanks come out with the full towing capacity and 3000+ stalls . Any updates on this? One more thing, I imagine no 4wd issues will crop up with a higher stall?

Thanks again all! Always informative!

Up to the TT3000 you do have full towing capacity.

I've not seen anything about FLP not liking Yank, will you please shed more light on this?
